Car parking, Ways to park

When it comes to car parking ( for most vehicles) we can mention three basic ways to park your car. Parallel parking, angle parking and perpendicular parking. Parallel parking is the most common way for street-side parking a car. Parallel parking is done when cars are parked parallel to the curb, if there is one, in which case one vehicle's front bumper is facing another vehicle's back bumper forming a line along the aisle.

Although Parallel Parking is consider one of the hardest skills for new drivers to master, it is one of the most popular ways to park in metropolitan areas where the amount of cars is higher than the amount of available parking spaces. There are two different car parking techniques to parallel park a car. The main difference is that one requires two moves to park and the other one requires three. The fist technique is the one most experienced drivers apply and it is basically back up while the steering wheel is all the way to the right, then turn it all the way left at certain critical point. But if you are a beginner you may want to use the second parallel parking technique, in which the car is back up with the wheels straight until the car is far enough so they can make the final turn.

Car parking depends on the situation and some times there is enough space (like in parking lots) to apply another one of the parking ways: the perpendicular parking. Is know as perpendicular parking since cars are parked side to side perpendicular to curb. Although parallel parking is the most common parking way within many big cities, perpendicular parking is the one method that drivers end up doing more often. Perpendicular parking can be done in two ways. Pulling in, which is by far the easiest way of parking a car. You just find a spot and turn carefully but fluently. the other way is backing into a space which is a bit harder but just make sure to stay within the parking lines (if there are any) and pay close attention to your review mirrors to make sure you are not going to hit anything or anyone.

The last car parking style or method is called the angle parking also know as the echelon parking in Britain. This parking style is similar to perpendicular parking, but cars are parked an acute angle to the curb instead of perpendicularly. Theoretically this will save more space allowing a higher density of cars to park. Angle parking is very popular in parking lots although it is also apply in cities where the traffic is not very heavy.

Among the other types of parking there are we can mention the tandem parking, the lift parking (vehicle are lift and stored one of top of each other) and attendant parking in which the driver leaves the keys to his or her vehicle with an attendant that will later accommodate it to maximize the amount of vehicles that are park. When this method is provide as a service of a business is know as valet parking.
